Mini Starter for 2005?
I will install my headers this coming week, and I know that on my 1985, the Mini Starter afforded more clearance around the header area, so.....
is there a need for more clearance and do they make a mini starter?

"In honor of jpee"
I haven't read of one, but maybe someone in the roadracing section has. Or one of the tuner/vendors such as ECS or DRM. I'd check with them.

Headers are installed by the thousands without a starter clearance problem.

Heat Soak, not clearance, I have a DEI start insulation, so if that is sufficient, then even beter

With my blower on 100+* days I can run 220-230+ temps and I've never had any issue.

Works for me then, $300 saved
The 85 would heat soak after long drives, not fun

If you are taking about a high torque starter. I would be very cautious most will not clear headers. Is very hard to know before buying.

Thats good to know, I put the car on the ramps last night to look around, it does look much smaller than my 85's starter, so I will wrap it with a heat blanket and see how it goes.
I'm knew to the LS engines but we'll figure it out little by little.
