I am new member with a three year old Corvette whose 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty will expire the end of next month. I bought the car new and have put around 32,000 miles on it with no problems at all. Is there anything in particular I should have checked before then? Thank you and I really look forward to getting the benefit of your collective knowledge and experience.
If I were you, I would consider getting a genuine GM Extended Warranty.
Dennis Fichtner from Fichtner Chevrolet has always been great to us on this forum, selling the warranties at *far* below what the local dealers do. I bought a 7-year extended warranty on my '06 C6, and absolutley came out ahead of the deal over the 7+ years I owned the car. And I just bought one from him on my 2013 Grand Sport.
My own experience with these warranties is that if you only keep the car a couple years it may not be worth it, but I keep them longer. And it seems like when they start getting 5, 6, 7 years old expensive stuff happens. I'm now on my third GM extended warranty, and except for oil changes, tires and brakes I haven't had to spend one cent on repairs . . . and GM has spent thousands on my cars.

The one item to check either way is the harmonic balancer...check for wobbling. If it is, it will be an expensive future repair. It's a six hour job for a regular mechanic...three hours at best for a guy who has done it alot and knows the tricks. The guy who did mine said that if he had to do one the next day, it would take him three.

Thanks, I heard there was a possible issue with those so I will have it checked when I have all of my fluids changed out in a couple of weeks. Oil, transmission (auto) fluid, differential fluid, brakes and cooling system. Can anyone think of anything else in particular that I should have checked while I am having the car serviced? Thanks.
I had them replace my sway bar end links also before my warranty ran out. You can hear them they make a slight clicking sound when going over bumps and hard around corners. These are a high wear item.

Thanks! I haven't heard or felt anything unusual but will add to my list of things to have them check out. Better safe than sorry! Thanks again.
Tomorrow is the day I take it in to have the fluids changed. Exactly one month before the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty expires. Any additional last minute thoughts on things to have checked? Thanks.
