He is probably sitting right at 400 whp now. That kit is only 550hp at the crank which is about 490 whp. Any good cam guru could get you there with moderate heads/cam pkg. There are alot of 500whp proven kits on this forum.....but to get to 550rwhp N/A.....thats a different beast ! !

Best bet is to get a custom cam and use the TF 225 heads. There are a bunch of posts about the heads and you can see what others have been putting in for their cams. Also, if you have an 05, you need to remember that your diffy is weak. Putting that much power to the rear without the right type of tires can lead to bad things

The short answer to this is no. TFS makes great stuff, but when you throw in the "best for the buck" it's not necessarily #1 anymore. Especially once you factor in the need for a roller rocker with the TFS, or the additional cost of setting them up to run a stock rocker.

If you're planning on staying with stock cubes there are other budget minded options. We use Advanced Induction CNC'd stock castings for all our stock cube builds and their stuff will go toe to toe with a TFS head on a 5.7/6.0L engine all day, without any special requirements for roller rockers or modifications to use stock ones.

Total Engine Airflow is another great option.

We build several budget minded setups every year and have produced some great results using the stock 243 casting, a good CNC program and a properly set up valvetrain. At the end of the day it's the combination of parts that makes the car run good.

I have the trick flow top end kit on my ls2, kooks 1 3/4 headers, fast 102, ported stock tb, block is bored .010 over, race tech 10:9:1 comp, TFS head/cam kit, slp LM1 exhaust, BBK air intake. I did 490 on the dyno across the board but that day made 513/446. every car is different, lots of variables. I made what I wanted to make, now wanna go pro charged once I get my diff/trans done.

you can probably spec a cam or have one done for you and have your factory heads ported and do just as well. it will also keep a few bucks in your pocket. maybe put that savings into another little add on. say a nice set of springs for the new cam.

my ls6 heads have been ported and flow 310 on the bench
enough flow to get my ls1 427 to 485 hp 505 tq on a dyno at the fly wheel
this is before my new top end that still sitting in boxes
