Hi guys. With my build about to start my shop is thinking I'm going to be close on 480rwhp and I'm concerned about the diff. Its a 2006 manual that's a daily driver from may until October. Should I upgrade the diff or is it pretty strong as it is. I may also be doing a blower next year but for the mean time its just n/a. Thanks guys some help will be appreciated espically from you guys running a heads and cam pakage!!!!!! Oh and the car will never see the track.

I'd say you're ok at the mentioned power level since you will not be taxing the car at the strip.

I have an upgraded rear end with a little bit of power increase. I did the swap for the gear change though not for a stronger unit, went to 4:10's

High revs and popping the clutch could change this though.

Blower... then get a clutch and a built diff wouldn't hurt but really depends on how the car is driven.

Also does your cam choice included and addition of the blower down the road?

My 550 rwhp 2005 mn6 has the thin-wall diff cases, prone to grenade. I, too, have not tracked the car, and don't do stupid burn outs, The car is 9 years old with 73k miles on it. So, with the 2006 and better differential, I'd assume you should be fine. Good luck.
