Default Hot fuel pump relay

After the motor is running for awhile, I can shut it down an try to restart. At this time it won't start, it will just spin over. I pulled the fuel pump relay and it is hot. I put in a new relay and it cranked right up. Is this a sign that I need to replace the fuel pump?

Most likely you have a poor connection at the fuse block that is arching causing the relay to heat up.

Trace the fp wire and pull it free of the fuse block (not difficult). Either bend back the clip-part of the connector to make a better connection and add a little dielectric grease (worked for me). Or, snip off the old connector and crimp in a new one.

The clips make a good connection, I can see each one is scraped where it connects.

Just went through this mess. My fuse block section was burned so bad it melted the plastic on one terminal. It got to the point where the car would only run about minute before the relay would overheat and cut out. Replaced the fuse block and installed the Racetronix fuel harness to eliminate the relay overload from my BAP. Runs like a scalded dog once again.

Pull the clips from the block and check them. It would be that the clip connector to the wires themselves are corroded, and the problem at hand.

I replaced the fuse block and it seams to have solved the problem. Thanks for everyone's help.
