Great pics!! It makes me wanna change the cam of my Camaro! I wonder for how long you drove with a broken chain guide..

Thanks! And im wondering the same thing! Maybe when it hit 75,000 miles is my guess. At 99k now. :o .Went ahead and did a 100k service while it was apart.

TDC method. OR You can use an air gauge and screw it into the spark plug hole. At crankshaft 12 o clock and camshaft 6 o clock, you have piston 1,6 TDC. 90 degrees to the right, its 8,5. Another 90 degrees its 7,4. Another 90 degrees is 3,2. I broke one of the dowel rods down to 6 inches and used it to confirm the pistons were TDC before i took springs off. The valves will fall a few mm.
