Default Spals New Brushless Fans

Spal has a new fan line called Nuova. These fans are superior to anything else on the market and standard equipment in the new C7 Corvette.

These fans are variable speed with integrated digital electronics. No PWM controller. Higher CFM ratings and "soft start" technology.

The 16" fan is the exact same mounting pattern as the older fan with 30% more air flow. There is no dual fan package available at this time however we will be creating one on our own.

Here is more on the line....

Interesting. Keep us posted, I'm having an A&A kit with cut-down Dewitts radiator (w/EOC) installed, but I'm keeping the stock fans for now. This would be a nice upgrade if I ever need additional cooling.

I am working on getting the actual current draw characteristics. Spal has released only (3) three sizes of these brushless models, 12" and 16" are direct mounting pattern replacements. Then there is a whole new 17" model (standard equipment on C7) unique to this line.
These three sizes multiply into more part numbers because they have the old conventional flush mount and the new "Drop in" type. The drop in type mount on the rear of the fan and they have a much more open fan cage design where you could stick your finger in there and get it cut off. They are desgined to be mounting in a recessed flange or something to minimize the finger amputation.

Here is a new flyer on all the sizes
http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/016...A_Fans.pdf?876

The red and blue curves are illustrating the flow of the old brush type (Red) against the new brushless (Blue) type. Since there was never any 17" brush fan, the curve for the 17" is against the old 16"

The first thing I noticed is the 16" doesn't offer the huge increase as the others. It is better, but not double.

Hold on to your hats boys, these things are really expensive so they better be beyond awesome. I am not publishing anything yet because we want to figure out how to use them and who is selling what.
Spal is not selling these direct and there are only a few dealers awarded the program.

The wiring and switch is unique for this product line and therefore each price is a system or kit, Complete with control switch, harness adpater, fan harness, and the fan.

Here are the only things I found others doing at this time

IX-39107035 (1) one 12" kit

$765

http://www.crracing.com/online-store/ix-39107035

$689

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sp...7035/overview/

So if we were to use the lower of the two prices, and add one more 12" to create a dual kit, the list price would be $960

Minimizing finger amputations sounds like a good idea...
