Hello
I'm finally doing the heat insulation kit along with some sound deadening (dynamat, MLV) on my 08 coupe. By following multiple posts and directions with the kit I'm almost there; seats out, sills off, passenger carpet out, far rear panel out. But looking at the front of the rear carpet (if that makes any sense), it looks like I might need to remove the coupe lid shocks to remove the speaker covers. One post said you don't need to, and another said you do. I'm thinking it will be a pain to work around if I have to cut a stick to hold the rear lid open. I could see knocking the stick by accident and getting a sudden headache. But it looks tight. Anyway, any advice is appreciated. Do I need to remove the rear speaker panels too?
Thanks.
The carpet doesn't stick up that far behind the panels, so if you're only doing insulation I think you could get away with not removing them. I pulled mine, but I was also doing an audio install in addition to the insulation.
Thanks for the replies. I'll try it without removing any more plastic, and if I need to, I'll use a rope and tie it open to the ceiling of the barn. Good idea. Thanks again.
