I am in the process of installing a forged 418 LS into my 2006 vette.
I purchased a forged short block, assembled by the builder. It has ARP main studs and ARP hardware throughout.
My question is - The ARP main studs are a larger diameter than the stock ones. My old windage tray nuts will not fit, and I cannot find the thread pitch for these bolts. Have looked on ARP's website, searched Google, etc. Tried my metric dies to see if they would thread on, etc. Nothing I've tried will fit. Heck, I even tried a 3/8-24 nut just for kicks. Can anyone tell me what size nuts I need to attach the windage tray to the ARP main studs?
I know I received those nuts (and spacers) with my short block. I am not sure if they come with the studs or my builder added them. I would call ARP directly and ask.
I figured it out. It's an M10x1.25. For some reason, I had it in my head that 1.25 was the coarse thread and 1.5 was the fine. I knew it was finer than 1.5. Got 1.25 nuts and it's all good.
