Default * TPMS Weight *

I am looking to purchase new TPMS for my C6 when I replace my tires and there are a few things I want from them and I hope maybe some of the vendors or experts here can help me make the right purchase.

The main thing I am looking for is this, which TPMS is the lightest in weight. My rims have several wheel weights opposite the valve stem to balance the wheel due to the additional weight of the TPMS. So the lighter the TPMS, the less weights I have on my rims.

The other things I want in a TPMS are like any other. Recognition by the car, quality, durability and cost.

So if anyone can help me find a light weight, durable, working, quality and affordable TPMS I would really appreciate it. Clearly I am not going to pay double to save 2 grams but if the difference is an ounce or so it will be of interest to me. I have no idea what an OEM TPMS weighs, but I am confident someone here knows this information. Also, if you do know, please provide me a manufacture name and part number I need so I do not get the right manufacture but wrong part number.

Thank you all in advance.

They only weight about 30 grams more than a regular valve stem to begin with. I really doubt you'll find enough difference between brands to make much difference.

Really, it just seems my rims have a lot of balancing weights to compensate for it because they are directly across from the valve stem. I will see if there are any other posts about them. I have heard a lot about the Schrader brand TPMS, does anyone have any personal experience with them? If not, what brand, or where did you purchase yours?

Thanks in advance,
Ghost

If you find a really good balance guy, he'll rotate the tire on the rim to reduce the amount of weights needed to a minimum.

Exactly. You need to go to someone with the latest road force balancers and they should do that. It's more work but reduces the amount of weight needed to a minimum.

I will do that when I replace the TPMS and the tires. Not sure who did them for the set on it now but clearly it could have been done better. Thanks guys, I appreciate your help.
