0.kI have to ask .I checked owners manual. With my 2013 g.s My on star says my tire are 3-4lbs low ,but no warning is showing up on dash..My c5 would give me a message as soon as I got in it.is it possible that the dealer never set up my tpms system?
The computer won't show a warning until the pressure goes down to 24 pounds. I think that's why a lot of owners get in the habit of checking the pressures via the DIC regularly.
Here's a posting by BEZ06 that explains the system pretty well:
Running 35lbs in my tires, the DIC reads 32 lbs (pretty much known problem on the C-6's with the system reading off my a few lbs)
So on that note, check the tire pressure with a gauge, then keep that in the back of your mind when reading tire pressure on the DIC. Hence, the TPMS is more of a system that lets you know that you have a flat, verses being very, very accute on tire readings instead.
On the positive note, it will read all the tires off by the same amount of pressure unless you have a questionable TPMS in one of the tires instead.
