Looking at fitting probably a ZR1 kit to my 2005 coupe, question is which one as there are various full kits and even OEM versions.
I am talking to Patrick at GM PH about OE kits, and also seen the cheaper option at Ecklers.
So has anyone had experience good or bad with the Ecklers kits #53983 and #53983, what was fitment quality like? were all the parts required in the kit?
I am in the UK so cant afford to get it wrong
Any and all comments appreciated.
If you don't go all OEM (I know those carbon fiber ZR1 fenders are very expensive) then I suggest you look into getting the ZR1 fenders from SS Vettes a forum vendor. From what I have learned being on this forum for a while (and through experience) they probably make the best fitting aftermarket ZR1 fenders.
I would definitely get ALL of the other parts from Gene or Patrick at GMPartsHouse.
I went with SLP ZR1 fenders and while they were "OK", they didn't fit nearly as good as OEM fenders.
Thanks for the info, I will look into the SS Vettes fenders, Patrick is currently pricing up a kit for me with various after market fender options so I will be sure to get him to include the SS version.
Not hearing good things about the Ecklers kits, only 22 pieces compared with GMPH 140 makes you wonder whats missing?
You specifically mentioned the ZR1 conversion and as you have noted it is the most expensive because of all those carbon fiber parts. The most affordable kit is the Grand Sport as I am sure you already are aware. Just putting it out there for your consideration.
