Default elec cut outs installed!!!

Finally got around installing these. These came from speed daddy and came complete with all parts needed including ss and alum tubing, gaskets, switches, wiring etc.... i bought two. My experience with them has been very favorable--so far.. I Had trouble with one of the wiring harness, called them and they shipped a replacement w/n a week.

I did all the wiring then took it to a local muffler shop to install the cut outs.. I installed the toggle switch in the ashtray area... modified it some - cut some plastic, but kept the function of the door - you can't see it when it is closed. Ran the wires thru tunnel below the shifter and to the back...very simple to do...just takes time to take off all the center console off..

Once installed by the muffler shop the sound was insane,,..what i noticed too was that even with them closed the exhaust is a bit louder,,,but when they are open,,,, you know they are open...at idle is bearable...but at WOT...its incredibly loud...

Took it to the local cars and coffee and it was quite a crowd pleaser...its actually pretty cool to just flip a switch and have a race car feel...my car is cammed so it sounds really neat...

Total time was about 2 hrs me doing the wiring and about 2 1/2 hrs at the muffler shop. Total investment +/- $600...

il post a video tnite

These are on my "To Do" list also. Thanks for posting the pics as I get an idea of the mounts.

ok, finally got one of the videos loaded!!!,,,this is in my garage at idle to about 3k rpm...they are closed first, then opened then closed again..there is not a big difference in the noise level at idle - maybe a lil bit of drone...but when you rev it up there is a big difference.. il post a new video me driving and another one at the drag strip Thursday at WOT,,,both will be really loud

My advise for what it is worth is to install them after your rear diff. You do not want to get your diff hot or your rear spring and they will get hot in traffic.

Looks good. I wanted 3" cutouts so I opted for the QTP low profile ones and needed to put them ahead of where my exhaust necks down to 2.5 at the over-the-axle portion so this was the only way I could figure to install them.

I hope you know I was not talking bad on your set up! It looks very nice I just suggest you be aware of the heat transfer. I don't remember the post but a member showed pictures of his rear spring failing because of the heat from his cut outs.

I recall that too. But I think they were pointed ~at the spring. With the turn downs on OP's setup I think it'll be fine.
