Anyone else running any kind of spark plug wire insulator? Are these helpful, necessary? As hot as it is in Dallas I am beginning to do what I can to insulate different parts on my GS LS 3.

Thx ahead!

Never personally used them myself but I would imagine they would be a pretty decent pickup depending upon price...much cheaper I'm sure sure than coating headers. What do they protect...spark plug wires? Oh and i'm with you on the heat...here in Houston myself.

I have them. Don't know if they do any good, but they don't hurt.

Not sure what you are asking, but they attache like any other spark plug wire. The wires may look small, but they are 9mm.

Do the original spark plug wires at the plug end pull strait off or twist? The metal covers are new to me. Thx.

Have you done any mods to reduce heat? If so, can you list a few? Thx!

Summit had an unbelievable sale few years back, buy one set and the second set free.

I do believe in using insulation for protection. I am using it under the radiator bridge, under hood fuse box, additional for ac lines, under each coil pack, under Fast IM, battery and the list goes on:

Aluminum is excellent to conduct/transfer heat, I used it quite a bit based on that very reason. I stuck with oem stainless fuel rails, being that stainless is not as efficient in the heat transfer department, thus might help keep fuel cooler in the engine.

Additionally to the small stuffs we can do, an healthy operating cooling system to maintain as a whole can not be over looked.

Hope that give you some ideas.
