OK, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a set of headers and a cam swap for my 12 GS M6. While I have done both headers and cams in cars I have owned previously on my own, none of those cars represented the financial commitment that my vette does. This job will be left strictly to the professionals. I want to make sure the job is done right....no cutting corners. While the engine is apart, what else should I have the shop do in order to ensure the longevity of the engine with the mods? I am looking for a relatively mild street cam. I do plan to have the headers coated. I will be keeping cats, and my NPP exhaust (M2W is already installed).
2) What are your plans for the car? ie: only street driving as DD -or- street with "some" strip or
some road racing -or- mostly track..??
3) Are you planning on changing rear gear ratios in the future?
Other "normal" things to consider in a cam swap are valve springs (of course), pushrods, timing chain and oil pump (depending on miles), and depending on "intentions" an intake manifold change or port job.

1. 13,000
2. Street only, not a DD (however I would not rule out a HPDE event or trip to the drag strip)
3. No gear ratio changes planned.
1. timing chain - this is a "should" since you're so far into the motor
2. upgraded oil pump - if you're feeling froggy and depending on use
3. pushrods - "must"
4. rocker arm trunion upgrade - "should" for peace of mind
5. valve springs - "must" tons of different options out there, do your homework
6. UD pulley - choose wisely. I lost an engine because of one...
