Default PRW Water Pumps

So I got these really nice 12 point stainless ARP water pump bolts. Decided that it would be nice to get a matching water pump.

Had anyone installed a PRW water pump? They only show an LS1 application, but id should work on the LS2. May not get to it for a couple weeks, but I will let everyone know what it is like.

I don't recall anyone talking about them before. I just searched around and found nothing.
There hasn't been much said about after market water pumps.

It doesn't help you at all but it's all I have:

Thanks! I met them at PRI last year and no one has said anything negative about them. The good news is that water pumps are easy to change.

Tim, just an FYI.

LS1 and LS2 timing cover has distinct difference in clearance. LS1 has more clearance for water pump choice. So....If if is listed for LS1...well...

I tried an Evans, from the get go, ran into major interference with their impeller cover top mounting bose, spoke to Evans engineers, got their ok, grind to the limit to provide clearance, blue checked moved onto another area, one step at a time, blue checked to confirmed clearance, over three days with slow and progressive removal of interference to ensure precise blueing fit up check.....eventually, stop short, confirming with blue check, when I need to grind my OEM timing cover. Evans was along the ride during my fit up process, they admitted pumped was never designed for an LS2, asked for my return of the modded pump and promptly refunded in full with shipping.

I'd spoken to member Pumba over at Autocrossing, he is using an Evans, although designed for LS1, he had to do some heavy clearance grinding to fit, using on his tricked out C5Z.

IMO, although lacking ceramic bearing seals, Edlebrock is my choice when the time comes.

Thanks! I was planning to use the Edelbrock, but the feedback I got was not positive, so that idea died. I will let you know what happens.

I haven't used their water pump, but I have used both their stud mount and shaft mount rocker arms on multiple projects, gen2 and LS, without any problems.

It works fine. Couple small issues. Don't get their thermostat housing because it is the LS1 style with thermostat in it. I talked to them at PRI and they are going to fix that.

The billet pulley is really wide, so you need to make sure the power steering line doesn't rub on it.

I would buy again.

They are really nice people. I don't have any good pictures of it installed. My car is on the lift for the winter with another car below it and it is snowing out, so I don't really want to get the bottom car dirty.

Like most everything else I bought for the front of the engine, I bought it for looks, but they do have documentation that says it flows better than the stock pump. I had a Billet-Tech Alternator with a billet pulley, a Turn1 Power steering pump with a billet pulley, Katech idler with a billet pulley, so I had to have a billet water pump pulley so they all would match.

You are just like me with the bling. Now I have to look into it as a winter project. Is this the one you bought? Part #1434610

Yes with the billet pulley. You have to buy a pulley. The difference is that the OE pulley is rounded at the front, so it looks shorter, but it really isn't.

FWIW. I have a Meziere electric water pump on my LS2 and it has worked fine. It looks similar to the one pictured, however that one is, I assume, a mechanical pump?
The Meziere pushes a constant 55 gph where as the stock pump is ( I think ) 22 gph?
With the Meziere, a DeWitts radiator and a big oil cooler, my car ProCharged car NEVER overheated.

I want a Meziere, but I have hard time getting over the "old school" mentality that electric water pumps are not reliable. Based on that thinking, I should still have a TV with vacuum tubes!

And the pump and pulley are direct replacements without modifications?
