Default Why is 375 mi so important

My 2006 Coupe started throwing check engine lights about 3 months ago . The code was P0171 , I do know what that is. The code would clear and not return for 7 - 10 days app. So after 3 repeats I made a stop at the local chevy dealer . This brought a diagnosis of Intake manifold gaskets issues . " there's a slight leak that reseals as the engine warms " went the explaination .
Well a little self diagnosis brought the following :
1) The check engine light comes on at app. 375 miles since reset.
2) It makes no difference how the car is driven hard , easy .
3) The gas tank was filled at alternating intervals to see if that made a difference .
4) There is no loose of either engine power or fuel mileage.
My question is does the ecu reset or is there something else "magic " going on . Any help/suggestions would be appreciated .

don't have an answer to your question but intake manifold gaskets are cake to install on these engines.

Without looking it up I believe I remember that being a lean code on one of the cylinder banks? If so, a vacuum leak could cause it. When you clear the code it takes a certain amount of miles (drive cycles) for it to come back. Probably why it always shows up around the same mileage each time.

Might be worth re-torquing intake manifold bolts to see if your problem is solved simply.

375 because it takes "x" cycle and miles to turn a light on and off.

Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p0171_chevro...#ixzz3BQxPUggO

Possible causes

- Intake air leaks
- Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Lack of fuel
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection

Help with Possible causes What does this mean?

Tech notes

If the P0171 is combined with the P0174 code, it's very likely that the problem is caused by an intake leak. If there are no intake leaks, the next step is to replaced the air filter and clean the air flow meter. If the problem persist the front oxygen (O2) sensor may need to be replaced.
The P0171 code could also be caused may be caused by one or more of the following: debris on MAF sensor causing an incorrect reading, improper oil level, low or high fuel pressure or Engine Control Temperature (ECT) Sensor reading inaccurate.
