fluid leak

I have a 07 base with A6 trans. I noticed a small fluid leak that seems to be coming from between the rear trans extension and the rear gear. I looked in the repair manual and it looks like there is a double seal back to back. One on the output shaft and the second on the case extension. Has anyone done this repair or can anyone verify that there are two seals back there. Any clarification would be appreciated before I jump into this repair. Does the rear gear have a seal back there or just the o ring.

First of all you ignore it until you are having to add a liter of oil every couple fill ups. Put cardboard under the engine where you park at night to soak up the oil drips.
