Default question about exhaust heat from Bullets

Hello
I had a local shop (used them before for these installs on previous cars) install a new B&B bullets Exhaust on my 2013 C6 auto. After taking a nice 40 minute ride last nite I noticed that the area directly above the exhaust tips was quite hot, no warping or anything. the top of the exhaust tips are approximately 3/4" below this plastic area. My question is, is this normal, let me know your thoughts, I was there for entire install and muffler pins are in rubber grommets properly etc.
thanks
Steve

Are we talking burn your hand hot???

warm to the touch sounds normal. I was at a track event about a month ago, and two different guys had the license plate frames dripping off the back of the car. Ok slightly exaggerated, but the frames were definitely melted and drooping.

Will be hot, although not enough to cause damage. Have them on my '13 A6 and had them on my '06 Z51 M-6. Great product. Never any heat problems around the fascia.

So far I've ruined two frames in the same manner.

This was not a problem when the car had oem exhaust. Now, however, the car has Arkapovic over the axle pipes with carbon fiber tips.

Before leaving the house for my last HPDE my wife reminded me to remove the frame prior to going on track. I forget. So when I return home my wife immediately goes to rear of the car. Long story short I'm now on my wife's **** list. Again!!

So, at this point, am shopping for another machine gray oem frame. Which, for sure, I'll remove before departing for the next HPDE.
