I'm looking for a great sound on my 2007, I had a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with the GT500 exhaust that sounded awesome on acceleration but very quite while at steady highway driving so am looking for the same for the vette --- so what would be my best bets?
Thanks
I have base 08 mn6. I have LG headers, cat deletes, and ZR1 exhaust. I would suggest the ZR1. I would also suggest the Z06. You will need to muffler mod to them if the ends are not perforated.

I just put LG Super Pros with the high flow cats, and when they were doing the dyno pulls, two "Mustang guys" came from inside the speed shop to check out what was singing sweet music on the dyno
They were very surprised it was a vette, and the more I bragged about how a Mustang sounded, they complimented the sound of the vette with headers and stock NPP exhaust.
If you go with the straight (cat delete) pipe, as yours is, it is even louder...
I too had a 5.0 at one point and I understand what your exhaust setup was like - adding the gt500 axle back produced a good sound when you were on it but relatively tame and quite otherwise. I would never usually steer someone to the touring level of Borla exhaust but it may fit the bill you are after. I would suggest listening to their s-type though. I went with the atak, I ilke it a little louder.
I have the Magnaflow cat-back system on my '13 coupe and it sounds "throaty" during acceleration, has a nice rumble during decal and very little drone at highway speeds.

Reduce the displacement of your LS2 to the same displacement as the Mustang, change the firing order of the LS2 to the same as the Mustang and adapt the GT500 exhaust to the Corvette chassis.
Went to a Corvette show yesterday. As I drove up to park, the guy at the entrance asked if I had a Borla. Told him they were Bullets. He said that is the best sounding exhaust he had ever heard. Same comment from my neighbor who has an SS with NPP. Had them on my '06 and got a lot of compliments on that car, too. No brainer for me to put them on the '13.
