If yours is a ls3.......you have a very good filter and it's basically the same filter that the Z06 and ZR1 has, so it should be able to feed your horses with no problem.

I think the LS2 suffers a little in the intake department, but what is the best....I think you will get about 3 or 4 opinions on that.
You can do a 'search' at the top of this page. Type in 'cold air intakes'......you will be able to read all day about it.
Good luck on your search.
There are many opinions as far as intakes go.
If you want the best performance, Halltech or Vararam are probably going to get you the most for you money.

I have the KillerB and the Beehive. I also have the VetteAir to get more cool air to the intake.
You will read about propping open the front shroud, which will work fine, but by getting more air to your filter....remember there can always be turbulences that will mess up your MAP. Each car is a different animal in this area. Of course, a tune can take care of any problems that arise.
When you go searching for cold-air Intake or CAI, you will find many that are just glorified filters. A true CAI as the name should imply, brings in cold air from outside the engine compartment.
I wouldn't waste my money on others unless you just want it for appearance sake.

There is really only one off-the-shelf CAI system for a C6. That is the Vararam.
However, you can get roughly the same thing by installing a Vette-Air Scoop in combination with a Halltech Super Bee with Beehive. Then you get true fresh air to the intake and it is separated/isolated from engine heat too.
I did my own version of this - I have a K&N intake system with a Halltech Beehive custom cut to fit the K&N. Then I have the Vette-Air scoop down below. I only went this route because I ordered a Vararam, and it just would not fit, and after going back and forth with them for a few weeks, They just refunded me and I built my own true CAI solution from the K&N that I already had.

If you like that....you need to look at the Halltech KillerBee and Beehive. I would also, at least, open up the front shroud to get cool air to it.
You might can find a used one in the 'for sale' section.
That IS a Halltech Beehive. But I cut it to fit my K&N instead of using a Killer Bee. Killer Bee on LS2 requires a tune for sure. K&N does not. Or you could go with the Venum II package from Halltech. http://www.halltechsystems.com/mobil...ductCode=V2026
I have not Dynoed, so I can't tell you my actual gains. And I feel like seat-of-the-pants is kinda lame. But it did wake up.
Also, I did get a tune. I have a 2007 Z06, and use a DiabloSport Predator. And then got a custom email tune the DiabLew Tune using my Predator to log data and install custom tunes. I love the results.
I have a question what kind off hp did u get with cai? Also did u have tuned?
Unless the stock filter you are replacing is particularly restrictive, you aren't going to see much of an effect on the dyno. Dynos don't generally force air into the front of the vehicle. I suppose you can roughly deduce the difference through on-board accelerometers, but thats hardly a controlled environment.
Whenever someone claims they got x horsepower from a CAI, ask them how they measured it.
That said, they almost certainly do add power, since colder denser air improves efficiency.
Thanks so much for the information I have learned so much today.
Go to Napa and get the gold series Wix air filters. They flow better than the stock units (will feel this for starters in the faster pedal to motor response), while at the same time give more than enough filtering to make sure that you are not sucking debris into the engine.
As for CAI (yes cold air that is drawing air from in front of the car, not from within the engine bay), they work by holding power when the car is standing still too long, not enough air is moving through the engine bay to cool the air back down that the motor is drawing in. Hence when the car starts to draw in hot air, the motor will retard spark and you start loosing HP.
How much spark is retarded, well that comes down to how hot the air is being pulled into the motor.
