Heat protection from headers
Question 1 is about the need to protect your plug wires and or starter with special sleeves or covers. I would appreciate any advice or thoughts on what you have done for your installation.
Question 2 Also, I have read a thread of two about the O2 sensor wires. Are there any special methods for covering them or tucking them away using ......?????????
Question 3 I live in the Pittsburgh PA area. Are there any tuners that you would recommend after I install them?
Thanks very much for your insights.

1. Spark plug ignition wire boots: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VMS-SILVER-8-SPARK-PLUG-WIRE-BOOT-HEAT-SHIELD-PROTECTOR-SLEEVE-SLEEVING-FUEL-OIL-/310577287070?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item484fd94f9e&vxp=mtr
2. Wire shields: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/the-17062
My long tubes also burned a hole in my AC pipe and caused my clutch fluid to boil. Might want to consider protecting those as well.
Good luck!
Also what diameter of wire shields did you use for the O2 sensors?
Anyone that has any other input on this topic would be very much appreciated.
Also an recommendations on a tuner in the Pittsburgh area. would be great!
The heat sleeves that SoDiezl350 linked to will work perfectly for the O2 sensors and extensions. Aside from the spark plug boots, you should be okay. Just look over the exhaust well and make sure nothings too close to the headers.
We're located quite a ways from Pittsburgh, here in West Chester, PA. However, if you're interested in making the trip I'd be happy to setup a dyno tuning session for you!

You will have clearance issues on the passenger side.
Example: If your car is an auto, the trans cooler lines will probably rest right on top of the headers. The pinch weld (where the footwall panel meets the floor panel at the frame) will have to be bent or smoothed with a grinder such as what I did. I removed about 1/4" of material. Another issue is the oem heat shield right at the front of the tunnel. The header will rub or rest right against the shield. Most installers simply remove the rivet and part of the shield. I didn't modify mine as my car is not a daily driver and I won't here it banging anyway with my loud exhaust.
The socks are not necessary as there will be sufficient room to clear the headers.
Good luck....................

All four-into-one designs will have clearance issues and by that I mean if you don't have a minimum of 1/4" clearance you run the risk of overheating and physical damage.
OP will understand once he's into the install.........let's be realistic!
OK
I was unaware the 4 into ones where that close to the plug wires... I personally never installed a set of those... so I could not have possibly have known that tid-bit.
But thanks for your candidacy. Was that "realistic" enough for you?

We have a new line of heat control product including plug wire boots in various colors.

On these we have used a heat reflective sleeves to protect against the heat. We have also used this stuff on twin turbo cars to protect various wiring harnesses.

Sorry can't help you in this department.
Thanks very much for your insights.

Lots of room for the plugs:

I hope the OP doesn't experience any of these issues on the underside........
BTW! The PFADTS are the best design for the C6 but the ARH's make the most power with supporting mods.

At the time I retired in August 2012 and moved to Florida there were not many options for C5/6 tuners in Western Pa.. I had my C5 shipped to Lingenfelter in Decatur, IN. twice for mods and tuning.
I note you live in Mars which is close the shop "ASAP by Ed" in Allison Park so you may be familiar with the shop. I never used this shop but it seems Ed has received mixed reviews. A few guys I raced with at Pittsburgh Raceway Park were big fans of ASAP and their cars ran well. However, I have heard complaints and seen some negative posts. I did visit his shop and spoke to him at car shows, and I can tell you Ed does not have much in the way of personality for that is worth. Perhaps some customers were put off by his demeanor.
RPM Hot Rods in Coraoplis does not tune cars but they build some over the top cars. You might give them a call to see who they use or could recommend.
Good luck and I would be interested in hearing how you make out.
