Default FRUSTRATED with REV Catch Can HELP needed.

Can anyone please help me.
I have purchased a Rev RX Catch can. However, the web site is pretty poor when it comes to installing it on my 2010 GS LS3.

I have taken it to two mechanics who refuse to touch it.

I have been on the web site and all the pics there show the engine out of the engine bay and not with all the wires and hoses attached.

The Elite web site shows it all well but the mounting bracket from the Elite is different than RX.
I feel i should have purchased the Elite.
Does anyone have any pics or step by step instructions to put this can on my car......without cutting fuel rails.
If not can someone tell me the address where i can send this paper weight back.

Thanks
Very Frustrated

Short version, your intercepting the oil vapor vent out of the motor to the vapor vent into the intake manifold with the catch can.
http://www.revxtreme.com/instructions/universal_cc.pdf

Also to note, you going after the same line with the elite, so you can use their instructions on how to pull the OEM line, and install the catch intercept lines.
http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/t...rvette_LS3.pdf

Being mounted on a Camaro ls3, but pretty close to the same install for your vet since it while show you how/where to mount the can, and the where the two lines off the can plumb to on the car.

Thanks for the post. However the camaro engine bay and set up in the video is quite dofferent than my GS. I had seen the video. Also the mounting bracket on the camaro was different too.

I do appreciate the response.

Look at the RX can instructions that I posted, since it shows you where to mount the can to the passenger side head in the second photo down.

http://www.revxtreme.com/instructions/universal_cc.pdf

The first photo shows you the plumbing of the RX can once you remove the OEM tube from the motor to intake to intersect the two ports with the can.

Simply, without the can in between the two ports, the oil (not just vapors) is being dumped into the intake manifold. With the can installed in between the two ports, the solid oil out of the motor is caught by the can (instead of being dumped into the intake), and the vapors are still allowed to pass through the can so the engine can burn it like normal.

So on that note, just need to mount the can, pull the pass through tube off the two ports, then use the rubber hosing to pipe off the correct nipples on the can to the correct ports on the motor/intake.

Took a look at those pics. Thanks for the info.unfortunately on the LS3. They want u to notch a fuel rail.

I will buy an elite can before I start cutting my vette apart.

I will keep searching for a better fix in the mean time

Dano523, I agree with the OP, I have looked far and wide and the instructions for the RX install on an LS3 Corvette:

1) Are poor or non existent (Camaro only, different engine bay)
2) Require cutting the Fuel Rail cover - not acceptable

I sent a PM to Tracy at RX asking about this debacle looking for a solution - No Reply

Truemak - Call RX and get their address and send the Can back with a letter stating your disappointment.

If you have the stock air filter housing on your LS3 the installation of ANY catch can will be a little challenging. When I first read about "cutting the fuel rail" I couldn't for the life of me figure out why that would be required. Slightly trimming the plastic fuel rail COVER is no big deal. I did it slightly with the way I mounted my Elite can and if done carefully it looks like it came from the factory that way.

Thanks Marc, Yea, I think the OP is in the same camp as me, there is no way he trimming or cutting any part of his GS. I'd not do that either, but others would .

thanks Marc, there is no way I can in good conscious or steady hand cut this apart. There has to be a better solution out there.
