Accessory Socket in Console
Anyone know the amperage rating of that socket? I am hoping 30A, but want to make sure....
(Thought I had posted this already, but I don't see it in my subs lists....)

Don't know, but if you can find the fuse, you have the answer.

Joe, It should be listed on the fuse cover.
Google says 20 amp.

Fortunately, the device I want to run, only draws 8 amps, at full draw.
I'll wire my tap, when the console is out to install the new Kenwood DNX-571HD

What are you going to run that you need 30a?

Amplifier for my 2 meter radio, and, an inverter to charge my extra batteries while driving.

You might as well also install a microwave.

The plastic plugs melt at less than 20 amps. 30 amps will never work with that type of plug. The wire to the plug is also too small for 20 amps.
