Default Loose connector

While installing a splitter on the front of my 2006 coupe I notice a connector plug on the passenger side of the radiator ne'er the bottom with a yellow plasitc tag on it does anybody know what it is for.

I would have said it's the underhood light, but mine (2006) doesn't have a yellow tag.

That connector with the yellow tag does go to the underhood light on my 06 Coupe.

Yes, hood light, and the first thing that I did was unplugged mine since I did not want the battery drain with the hood open/light on for extended periods of time.

As for if I need the light, easy enough to just reach down and plug the connectors back together.

The light goes out on its own after the hood has been open for about ten minutes on my car.

Truth is, wish that GM would have installed a on/off switch (with the tilt switch) on the light fixture to leave it off instead of having to unplug the connector to keep it from coming on every time the hood is opened.
