Default Thoughts on Exhaust setup

Hi Guys, I purchased a 2008 C6 Corvette two months ago with only 7500 miles and bolts ons including D1SC procharger, AEM Meth kit, boost a pump...and two things in question here. It was unbeknownst to me what type of exhaust this car had until I finally got it on a lift the other day. To my best knowledge and also the mechanic confirms to also it looks like a 1 7/8 OBX Long tube headers with 3" catted x-pipe going into magnaflow axelbacks (not sure which models). I had ARH headers on my G8 and they were absolutely ridiculous but how is this setup....I know OBX aren't the best but would it be worth upgrading the headers or axelbacks or is what's on there now good? I'd like to spend money on adding to it if the exhaust improvement would be negligible. Btw, my car is in the shop right now getting a 4" pulley put on, rebuilt motor by Late Model Engines and they're speccing me a blower cam setup So this will be a totally different car!

I wouldnt change anything if you like the way it sounds. Those headers are fine. 4" on a D1 will rip. Maybe do a 10% OD damper when the motor gets done. You running 8 ribs or a flip drive?

Using LME I assume you're a Houston guy? Any idea what kind of power it makes now? You should drop in the forced induction section and introduce yourself.

OBX are as good as anything out there except they are reasonably priced

6-rib. Yeah i'm in the Houston area, my mechanic recommended HKE first but they've had one of his motors for 5 months now so we went with LME. With the 4.24" pulley it made 594 to the wheels.

All the headers make relatively the same HP. Pretty happy with my OBX headers. You would be throwing the money away at this point.

Not too shabby.

A cam should really wake her up. Lots of procharged cars end up with a Dallas performance intake or homemade 4" inlet. The other biggie is switching brackets/flip drives if you encounter belt slip. I personally have a D1 w/4.25" pulley on A&A brackets and will be upgrading to a full 8 rib setup and the OD balancer in the next few weeks.

Yeah Mike I have the 4" Dallas Performance intake, 4" pulley going on. And as of right now I am doing a LME built motor, Cam and maybe some other stuff...stay tuned
