I cannot find the thread that discussed GM's decision to under rate the 2005-07 LS2 engines so it would not impact the sales of 2004 Z06's.
The LS2's were rated up to 411 Hp.
My question is, is this a rumor or fact. It does make sense!

GM rated the ls2 at 400hp in 2005, hence less than the ls-6 Z06 from 2004 of 405hp, so the LS-6 would show more horse power than the LS-2 on paper.
Problem was, the LS-2 did put out around 411HP and had a great deal of more power up the curve as well over the LS-6 that the marking boys didn't want to let on, since they wanted the C6 Z06 to be the C5 C06 crusher instead in 2006 (and not the 2005 C6 with Z51 package).
