I just had a new AC Delco compressor installed on my 05/C6 and it is not working properly. I took it back to the shop, but the mechanic doesnt seem to know what he's doing. Hopefully, someone here can help me before my wife forces me to sell my Vet.
Here are the details: When I turn on the engine in the morning, the AC works fine. Its only after I drive it for a while in the afternoon that the problem emerges. It starts to blow warm air(the compressor disengages).
Strangely, when I play with the fusebox and move it a little, the compressor re-engages. If I move it again a little, the compressor disengages again. Again, the compressor only disengages itself in the afternoons, after I drive it for a while. Its very frustrating because every time, I take the car back to the auto shop, the problem conceals itself.
Parts installed: Delco compressor, thermostat, receiver drier(line), PAG oil. The system was flushed.
If they charged it with the original factory refrigerant weight it's over charged but that may not be your only issue based on what you describe. I can't remember the corrected specs but it was reduced by several ounces. Someone here can probably remember or check with GM.
