No idea but a WAG might be, it's being asked to pump too much fuel to keep up with the needs of your engine? Pumps wear down and maybe it didn't do that in the beginning and probably had a built-in leeway above bare minimum.

If you're using the stock 20A fuse there is too much current draw with the BAP. Some have been successful going up to a 25A fuse, which most of us don't recommend, but I think you need a Racetronix harness to do it safely.

Check this recent discussion and read all of it.

Most likely you have a short in the wiring rather than fuel pump failure.
The fuse block is where I'd start looking first.

NEVER RUN A HIGHER AMPERAGE fuse. try running a relay to power up your boost a pump instead of overloading the circuit, you are just begging for a melted harness and an expensive repair.

I had the same issue. I chased this issue for a year. I ended up changing the fuse block. I have not had the problem since. There is a recall for the fuse block.GM is going to replace it because of an issue with headlights shutting down. The wiring gets hot and separates. In my opinion this is another serious issue that needs a recall.
