Default Headers question

I have 09 base and want to order Long tubes/ X-pipe combo. My question is It seems that in 09 the shape of midpipe was changed but most header/x-pipe combos I found say "fits 05-13" Are they not supposed to be different fit for 09+ C6? If I get 05-08 system it seems that the xpipe will not line up with my 09 NPP....

All headers will fit all years of the C6. The midpipe is a different matter. The end of the '05 to '08 passenger side of the mid pipe is different from the end of the '09 to '13 mid pipe. Mid pipes do interchange but the axleback that bolts to the midpipe changed from '08 to '09 to match the mid pipe change.

Headers = any '05 to '13
Mid pipe = '05 to '08 OR '09 to 13
Axleback = '05 to '08 OR '09 to 13 (must match the midpipe year class)

Thanks. So If I get header/x pipe combo for 05-08 any muffler shop should be able to make it fit easily to my NPP catback?

Yes. They'll have to heat/bend the xpipe to make it fit. It'll take some work, but if you're getting a killer deal or something that you can't find any more (like a Pfadt set, which is why I did this) then sure.

It's not "easy". It's probably expensive to cut, bend and/or weld. Why not just buy the correct midpipe to match your NPP overaxle pipe?

Good point. The problem is that all attractively priced ones such as Texas Speed or OBX are only 05-08 fit. LG, ARH, Kooks and SW all have perfect fit specifically designed for 09+ but cost twice as much.
So I figure if I can get a set of headers with x-pipe from Texas Speed for 750 bucks and spend another extra 150 on making them fit to my factory NPP, it will still be much cheaper. I had ARH on my 06 Coupe and OBX on my C5 and honestly they both were great quality headers and I can not tell the difference but the price.

OBX sells 09-13 headers/mids. I bought them and installed them on my 09.
