I have an A&A supercharged LS2 in. 2005 C6 with Borla cat back system and KB boost a pump. My next upgrade was going to be long tube headers and changing the blower pulley from 3.8 to 3.6 inch diameter. My tuner says that this combo will make about 615 rwhp and I should upgrade to the Z06 in tank fuel pump which will support about 675 rwhp. Is like to have more margin to accommodate future power upgrades beyond 675 rwhp. What are my alternate fuel system upgrade options that would be compatible with E85 fuel (because that seems like a viable future mod.).
Also, if I do the Z06 pump upgrade with headers and smaller pulley, could I use that same set-up with alky control methanol injection?
I don't know the answers, but who does your tuning?
Speed Inc. In Schaumburg IL does my tuning.
From other threads, I get the impression that the LS3 fuel pump is the same as the Z06 fuel pump which have more capacity than the LS2 fuel pump.
The issue I'm facing is that the Z06 pump costs about $900 to install (parts and labor) and is not E85 compatible. For that much money I'd like to have a bit more reserve capacity to make more power for future upgrades.
I have a 2005. The car has a procharger, cam and headers. I had a DSTECK Flex Fuel system installed on it. Chad Barton of CBI Street Cars (Valles Mines, MO) did the work. He installed a FORE triple pump system with a boost adjusted regulator. WOW. Made an incredible difference. I gained .4 sec and 5 mph in the 1/8 mile. Dave's tune greatly improved my power and overall driveability. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
It is a 12 hr roundtrip for me to get to Chad/Dave but it is the only place I take my car now. I have Chad upgrading the engine internals and transmission as we speak. Hope to be between 700 and 800 rwhp when all said and done. I believe the fuel system should be good to over 1000 rwhp on E85.
E85 is a great upgrade, the DSTECK flex fuel system allows me to travel without worrying about tracking down E85 stations in advance and/or carrying a tuner with me. Also, based on the limited logging that I have done, it appears E85 quality can vary quite a bit, which is not an issue as Dave's system take care of it.
