I have a coworker that says he used to work at a Tuner shop that specialized in LS Camaro/Corvettes. He claims that corvette customers who did the FAST 102 intake would come back and complain that the intake would howell at higher RPM. Especially customers with boost.
Is there anybody that can confirm or deny this?
I'm in the market for a FAST intake but don't want any issues like this.
If they changed to a different air cleaner system it will make that kind of sound. And my bet is, if you change the intake, the parts in front of the intake are also changed.
When I went from stock LS2 to K&N system, I could her that type of noise. Also, if you don't put the fuel rail covers back on , you will get valve train noise as well!
i am not boosted but make plenty of power i do not hear a howl at all. I hear a slight valve train noise but its hard to hear with lt headers and loudmouth II exhaust no cats.
Maybe if they only installed an intake manifold, the truth is when my dual mode exhaust opens at about 3500 rpm, I can't hear anything other than exhaust howl and it is beautiful!!
This is with cam, intake, headers, high flow cats and a tune.
