Question guys,
My clutch spring broke the other day. So half was in half out.
Took my 07 Vette into the shop to get fixed. Drivability was great
with everything acting normal. Dealership says they fixed spring but
Started to pull out and clutch went to the floor (not right or stiff as before)
And now dealership tells me I need to buy a new clutch. I have talked to a
few local mechanics I know and they say this isn't right.
So question is --- why would I have to buy a new clutch if all I needed fixed
is the clutch spring? Seems to me they are trying to pull a fast one!!!
Thoughts?????
Sounds like a slave cylinder or master cylinder issue to me.
many have pulled the spring, to change the pedal feel and have driven years without it. you need to find the cause of the pedal drop, most likely the master cylinder.
