Default How can I i.d. an LS7?

I've had 4 C5's, and modified 3 of them to some extent. I'm about to install an ls7 into A 2004 z06. I found a good deal on a 2009 LS7, but it's out of the car. Can someone tell me the easiest and most positive way to identify an LS7, so I don't end up buying an LS1 with LS7 rail covers? Thanks.

On the back of the block by the #8 cylinder you should see "7.0 L" stamped on it.

Mine had a little plaque w/ the engine maker's name. One would think that would stay w/ the engine?

Thanks for the valuable info. It would be hard to miss that with the engine out of the car.
