I just had the harmonic balancer replaced on my 2005 at the local Chevy dealership. On the way home the engine warning light came on. I returned to the dealership the following day and the engine code indicated that the right catalytic converter needed replacing. They cleared the code and said to see if the code re-appeared.
On the way home the engine light came back on and then the check coolant level warning appeared.
Is this coincidence or are these problems related to the original repair?
first problem you have is, you let the dealership change the balancer, you could of gotten it done cheaper at a performance shop more then likely. Second, its going to be related to the repair as they have to pull the radiator out I am 98% sure. So either its there is not enough fluid, there was an air pocket or sensor not hooked up somewhere.
Yes, it came back on a few minutes after leaving the dealership.
Check the sensors on the exhaust. Sometimes the connectors are not put back on securely. They wiggle loose after a little driving and the short throws a code.
