Is it okay to turn the factory flywheel or are the tolerances too close? There was no chatter with the clutch just slipping in third. Smooth and no vibration. This dealership has me nervous,... New purchase.

I would buy new. Labor cost are too high a risk.

If it was mine, I would buy a new Flywheel, Clutch, Slave and add a remote clutch bleeder.

For the price of getting at it again, I think it's worth replacing all.

Well, I bought the car, and it was slipping a little in 3rd on the test drive so they threw in a clutch.. So I thought wth, it'll be shot by next season anyway and it's free. They had already put it together by the time I found out what they were doing. So now I'll just hope for the best. At least the repairs are under a one year warranty.. it'll get some major work done in the spring anyway

Not sure why the dealer would want to turn the flywheel Vs replace it. They usually give a 12K/12 mo warranty with their repair work so why would they want to risk having to take the drive train apart again. It isn't exactly cheap for them to do the work over.

If it needs to be replaced again, they will blame it on abuse.
