Default What model SLP Blackwing is this?

Hello...bought an SLP Blackwing online at a good price with no documentation or accessories.

It is brand new but im not too sure what model it is or what year Corvettes it will fit. I believe from some photos i have seen it could be for a 2005-07??

I have a 2002 Coupe and would rather not take everything apart to find out it does not fit my car.

Any identifiers on this unit to distinguish fitment.

Thanks in advance guys

Ray

It is for a C5. However, there were two different diameter fittings for the MAF inlet. With the black hose I think the one you have is for the early C5s (97-00). I had one on my 97 and another on my 03 and the only difference was the connecting hose which adapted the air cleaner to the MAF. The connecting hose for the later model unit was either green or red as far as I can remember. Sold the 03 5 years ago.

The two holes at the bottom of the air cleaner fit onto the two studs that hold the stock C5 air cleaner to theframe front cross member. The hole on the left is for the air intake hose for the air pump that pumps air into the exhaust manifolds and the little check ball thing is the meter that tells you when the air cleaner needs cleaning. The air cleaner was originally designed and manufactured by Donaldson and you need to use a special fluid to clean it. Do not use the K&N fluid or it will ruin the Donaldson element.

Thanks for chiming in Bill!

Thats great,,was hoping it would fit my C5. From reading , i understand i will need a larger coupler from filter to MAF...3.75" sold as a kit 21111L...from SLP...or a similar coupler from on of the performance shops (home depot..lol) up here.

Real tough to find the Blackwing oil/cleaniing kit anywhere in Canada..can order it online for $20 plus $35 shipping??

Is there any kind of oil substitiute?

Thanks
