Default Tuner question on traction control

Can the traction control on a 09 C6 be turned off all the time ? I was hoping either HP Tuners or EFI Live could turn it off so I wouldn't have to remember every time the car is started..

...........just pull the CORRECT fuses and it will disable all the nannies but you do so at your own risk.

Google it!

Yes, it is easy to do with HP Tuners.

Better better off using the TC button to either put the car in comp mode (push the button twice), or disable the system completely (hold the button down for 5 seconds), hence someone else goes to drive the car , and needs TC in play so they don't wreck the car instead.

Not true. Traction Control is a function of the EBCM which HP Tuners has no access to. Traction control does two things to limit wheel spin. First, it reduces torque because it can do that quicker, however, if torque reduction (HP tuners can play with this part) doesn't work the EBCM applies the rear brakes to reduce wheel spin. On some older model budget level econocars torque reduction is all that was done but on higher end cars they use both torque reduction and brakes.

If you don't believe me do this little experiment. Swap your front and rear tires (being careful not to damage your front fenders), to move the car you will need to turn off TC on the console then find a a steep hill, stop the car turn on TC, put the car in neutral and try to coast down the hill with the engine idling. The car will come to a stop as the rear wheels are spinning faster than the fronts and the EBCM will apply the rear brakes to stop the implied wheel spin. You can screw around for months with HP Tuners or any other tuning tool and not impact that part of TC.

Thanks for the correction, I thought brakes were only applied for active handling.

Why would you let somebody else drive your car?
