Default 2008 c6, water leak

Got a water leak on the passenger side right near the oil filter..

is this the water pump?

Just bought this used @ 54K - 2008 C6 LT3

Are you sure it's a water leak from the engine?The A/C drain is in that area and if the car is not over heating ,that may be what it is.

my oil filter is on the drivers side...

definitely rule that out first, switch off heater/ac for a day or so and see if its gone.
remember, ac also automatically runs if the heater is directed all or partially towards the windshield (unless you actively switch it off).

thanks for the replies..

i meant parallel to the oil filter but on the passenger side is where the leak is coming from. I did have the heat running for a bit, and after inspecting the ground, it was water.. the water pump would leak coolant, correct?

yes.
(based on the assumption there is actually coolant in your system and not just water).

if its just water on the ground its probably condensed from the ac or maybe rain or wash water coming from another area.

how does it taste?

If it is clear water, I would think it is just a/c condensation. I can't think there is anywhere on the car that would have plain water except the windshield washer reservoir.
