Is the disc scratched or damaged in any way? Sometimes real cold weather can cause disc read errors until it warms up a little.

Maybe try a known good Nav DVD if you know anyone.

I am not kidding...hit the CD face plate (not the screen) with a rubber hammer as you press the eject button. Cause some vibrations to jar the CD release mechanisms.

Else you'll need to remove the unit from the dash.

Might be sub freezing cold weather, maybe keep in a heated garage for a while before my hammer trick since the battery disconnect did not work.

Good luck.

I am having a little trouble interpreting what you are asking.

First question: Are you asking if the nav unit needs a DVD? Answer is yes.

Second question: Are you stating that you don't know if the disk is in the Nav unit or not? Maybe you don't have one in the unit. It would be pretty hard to eject a DVD that doesn't exist. There are two locations behind the Nav screen to insert discs. The upper one is for the CD player and the lower one is the DVD drive for the Nav. Get a very bright flashlight and look into the lower slot to see if you can see the edge of a DVD in the slot.

Third question: What year car do you have? Earlier C6s came with two NAV DVDs. One for West Coast and one for East Coast. Later C6 Nav units came with just one DVD that covered the complete country. Have you ever seen the NAV DVDs in the car?
