Acceleration issue
I have a 2006 C6 MN6 (60k miles) with the following MODs:
Headers Long Tubes
Exhaust
Intake
160 degrees
My C6 sometimes is a dog. I would punch it, the engine roars but there isn't much go. Quite like the low to mid range is nonexistent, top end is okay.
In the past, I've change out the plugs, the wires, oil, trans oil, and cleaned the MAF sensor. None of these changes have improved the performance.
When the car is running well (seldom) , the acceleration torque is scary. I would love for the car to be this all the time, as it should be. I have taken it to a local reputable tuner who applied a 'street tune' for my mods but I still feel that didn't solve my problem.
Anything else that I could check? Any vacuum hoses that I should look at? Throttle Body Sensor (I got a reduced engine power a couple times but it has went way). Any help is greatly appreciated!
*funny note* If I turn on the AC for about 5mins and turn it off, the low to mid end torque seems to return. I don't know, my car is haunted LOL
Thanks - Dino

I still think your problem is the clutch. They can slip without being all the way bad. Are you smelling anything funny coming from under the car? You said it's not as bad at higher speeds, that also sounds like a clutch that's on it's last legs.
The O2 sensors detect that the mixture is off a little and perhaps slowly pull timing or change mixture.
Also, could be that there is nothing wrong. Mods move the power band up. These M6 base cars only start pulling above 2500 rpm stock. Having had stroked small blocks (383 cu in and up) before owning this vette, I've always had power off idle till redline.
To drive these cars for best acceleration. . . you have to rev first gear out to the redline.. . .then second and so on for the power.
But I could be wrong on this. Maybe my car needs a tune too. But definitely notice there isn't a lot of power "downstairs" on my base 2007. I have to rev the sucker (sounds great!).
I forgot to add, I replaced the headers gasket too, just to rule out an exhaust leak.
