Default Finally installed a Catch Can

I have a 2013 Grand Sport Corvette w/the Dry Sump LS3. I kept hearing about how the LS engines a lot of times ingest oil back into the intake. I had bought a Mishimoto baffled oil catch can but couldn't really figure out how I wanted to mount it up. I have been watching a lot of videos and brain storming & I finally bent some steel into a L shape and bolted it to the fender. To my surprise, I had just enough braided hose to tie into the PCV system from the Dry Sump. It came out to be a pretty clean install. I hope that this helps if anyone else is planning this mod.

Better than I could do but there is to much going on with the hoses. Don't like the tie straps either.

Like I said better than I could do.

I measured and tried many, many different configurations. This is the best I could come up w/the length of the hoses that came w/the kit. I don't really like the zip ties either. I didn't realize when I ordered the kit, that the braided hoses were as big around as Prius' exhaust pipes.

Well wish I could have one installed but here in California they are not legal. Actually messing with any component of the emissions system is a Federal no no. Not saying I haven't skirted the law before with full bolt ons. Basically back to stock now with my 6 year emission requirement due.

Let alone be able to figure out the installation myself.

Those are large hoses!!

"Those are large hoses!!" -That's what she said- lol

That must be a tough, vicious cycle. Get a emission test w/the stock components, get some mods and then back to stock when testing comes back around. I wonder if a stock Dry Sump Grand Sport vs. a Catch Can installed exact Grand Sport would have more or less emission emitted?...I wonder if California would be on the side of 'to Catch Can' vs. 'not to Catch Can'. It actually removes oil from being burned up in the ignition cycle right?...less emissions?...

Ya frustrating, just can not mess with any emissions componants. Adding a catch can is doing just this.

I was always in the impression that you only need a catch can between the PCV and the intake manifold. Only time I've had oil come out of the oil can to the intake is when the oil level is high and I accidentally overfilled it.

I guess it's to early to tell how well it's removing oil vapor from the air entering the intake. When I had an '08 before, I did a CAI mod & there was a bunch of oil on the filter that came into the intake via PCV system (Not just the red K&N filter oil)
