Was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I have an '05 Corvette, manual, base model. I just had my water pump and front brakes replaced at the dealer. I took the car for a test drive and after starting the car, I heard a loud squealing sound. After driving, I noticed when I shifted into gear, especially 2nd and higher, it seemed like the car was struggling, slipping a bit, which also sounded like a duller squealing sound.
Dealer didn't notice it when I took it back in, so when I go back I'd like to maybe point them in the right direction as to what the problem might be. I did not have this problem prior to having the repairs.
do you smell anything ? Coolant may have been spilled on the belts. Why were the brakes replaced ? Were the rotors replaced ? The wrong size rotors may have been installed although I doubt it, or the brakes may be dragging due to pressure issues with the ebcm if the brake fluid was flushed and over pressurized.

good luck
I did not smell anything. Brakes were replaced due to off and on squealing when braking. Almost 49k miles, back brakes were done at around 30k. I'd be surprised if a wrong size anything was installed; they've been pretty good in the past. The loud squeal has only happened once so far on start-up; I am more worried about the sound/feel when changing the gears that something seems off.
UPDATE: After driving a few times, seems like the issue has been resolved. May have been just new positioning of the belts, not entirely sure, but seems ok now.
