I just installed a Kenwood 599 radio. I used the GMOS-04 and installed a relay. I had problems finding a switched batt wire for the radio. I tapped into a switched wire for the HVAC control. Now when I shut off the engine all gauges drop off but the car remains running for about 10 seconds longer then shuts off.
When I pull the wires out of the dash the car starts and shuts off normally. All connections are soldered and heat shrinked. The relay is tapped up with no exposed wires. Any ideas?
I don't know anything about that GMOS-04. Is a relay really necessary in that setup? I would use the wipers or heated seat at the fuse panel for power tap.
I'm not sure what the relay is for, I've got the RP5-GM11 harness adapter and no relays are needed. Everything wires right into the existing radio harness no need to tap into anything.
Look up Dennis from Double D Mods, a supporting vendor here. He knows this stuff inside and out and can likely help you out.
He pre-wired everything for me so I just have to plug it in. I've got the DNN991HD and should be installing it this weekend.

I messed with it for two Saturdays, gave up and had Dennis send me one ready to go as well!

Dennis really knows his stuff!
I went local to support my community. I did finally figure out the electrical problem. I had tied the red switched wire into the back of the heating control panal. This screwed with the RAP and allowed the engine to run on until the door was opened or it timed out. I clipped the wire and found out the radio just needed the Bat+ wire. IF I ever do this again I WILL contact Dennis at Double D and do it right the first time. Dennis was gracious enough to sell me the antenna adapter for my Sirius xm antenna. Many thanks go out to him...
