Default Wires to nowhere?

Im stumped on this one...So Im replacing my baffle or radiator shroud if you will, as it was cut up for an air intake. I yank it out and I see the plastic wire loom sitting there with two wires in it, yellow and green in pic...

I thought I broke them off for sure so I start looking and cant find the other end..So I take off the pass wheel start taking off plastic panels from the inner wheel well and guess what ...no other end can be found...

Would GM just leave wires hanging like that? The ends look clean cut, and there is no other end to be found.

Anyone seen this...The pic is looking in the pass wheel well toward the front of the car with horns in the back round..

Im kinda holding off on reassemble as im not sure whats up with these wires.

No didnt buy it new but the previous owner did and he only took it to the dealer for service...Dealer even installed the CAI...I really think the wires just stubbed out like that...No other end to be found.

The car is an 08

If this is over on the passenger side at the bottom front of the shroud it could be a vestigial harness for the underwood lamp. I know because I added a lamp to my 2007 coupe and found the harness waiting for me up there with a cap on it.

I looked at the wiring diagram and I think he is spot on.

Thats where its at and the harness does feed other lighting so maybe thats it....No cap but the wires look to be cut clean and even.

not sure if this helps but at least it shows where the plug/connector for the under hood light should be.

It probably is the wiring for the underhood lamp. Here is a pic of the wiring on the passenger side of the vehicle (below the shroud)
Looking at your pic compared to mine, it now looks like the wiring cut goes to the outside temp sensor.
Ummmm

And a pic of the underhood lamp wiring hanging down in that area.
