Manual states- To use name brand fuel that should contain additives that will help in fuel economy and performance.
I have no idea if these companies are really adding things to help us. Sometimes on long trips, I don't have a choice.
I have used "Seafoam" to clean injectors in past, on my other GM cars.
Are there other additives that are better and safe to use in my LS2 ?
Manual is pointing you are using top tier fuel that has Techron in it.
Not only will it keep the line and injectors clean, but help to keep the fuel level sender in the passenger tank non-air corrodes, so the fuel level sender (contact bars and arm swiper on it) last as long as possible. Hence once the gas gauge goes under 1/2 full, the passenger tank is empty (passenger tank used first), and you are pulling fuel from the drivers side tank instead.
If the fuel you are using does not contain Techron, the go hit up a Walmart for bottle of it when its on sale (less than $6 a bottle), and use a bottle every third fill up.
As for other additive and you are using 93 octane or better, then it a matter of using such to try to combat the ethanol in the fuel instead (up to 10%, which cause a lose in some power, and MPG as well). Here, unless you are pushing the car hard, may not notice the slight HP lose, but will pick up on the MPG lose if the fuel you use is only 10% winter time only.
