Default Std. C6 body/frame strength

Seeing as that I didn't want to hi-jack my own thread about the fitment of the fixed Z06 roof to a std C6, I started a new one. My question is this: the factory saw it fit to install a fixed roof on its most powerful C6's (Z06, ZR1) to help strengthen the body/frame package. How critical is this to a high power standard C6? In other words, would one expect chassis/frame problems with an engine producing in the neighborhood of 550 - 650Hp in a standard (non-Z06, non-ZR1) C6? I'd really appreciate some input on this one folks. Thanks in advance!

As has been mentioned, the roof is fixed not because of engine power but to make up for the otherwise less stiff aluminum chassis.

Note that the 505hp Z06 engine is available in an open-top C6 from the factory: the 427 Convertible. And like all C6s without fixed roofs, the 427 Convertible uses the steel chassis.

Thank you all. I didn't think of the fact that the Z06 has an Al frame It makes sense now. For that matter I totally forgot about the 427 convertibles as well. Thanks!
