Default corvette with a LS2 wrecked engine. Options?

Okay, so long story short my buddy ran my car without knowing the engine was burning oil to the point where the engine burned up all the oil and got ruined. So now I'm basically looking at my opinions and I'm stuck in between two options, the LS367/480 and the LS367/525. I know the difference between the two crates, but I'm not sure if its worth the extra grand to go with the 525hp or not, and if my oem auto transmission will handle the power increase. So I'm asking what do you guys think about these two engines? Has anyone here tried them and what can you tell me about drivability and if its tolerable for everyday driving. On a side note I'd also like to install my old bolts on parts (headers/xpipe/axleback/cai/thermostat.)

Have the stock engine rebuilt as long as nothing is hurt to badly. If you want to play, put ls3 heads on it and a decent can. You'll be money ahead with more HP then either of those two engines

you will need a torque converter with either engine and a 24X reluctor wheel on the crank to match your LS2 electrics in your car.I have worked on the 480hp version and it works quite well.I would really like to see how the 525hp version performs.you will also need a good tuner to tune either of these engines as a lot of tuners seem to have trouble tuning them properly.you may have to change your thermostat.

And the car is closer to stock since you kept the original block. In about 20 years that will become important.
