I have a 2013 Grand Sport. I am wondering about driving the car w/the A/C on vs. the A/C fan turned off. If it's more than 70 degrees outside, if I have the A/C turned OFF, my right leg gets pretty hot. I'm wondering about running the A/C to the floor to keep my right leg & feet cool. Does running the A/C take that much from the overall power? I would like to keep my feet from getting hot by running the A/C to the floor w/the windows open. I guess my question is; Should I suffer w/no A/C to my feet for any HP gains if there are any?
For real man? Are you just messing with us??? If you re serious use the a/c, you paid 60k + for a top of the line sports car with all the creature comforts
With the climate control completely off, you can push the recirc button either once or twice (get the light on it to come on) and this will stop the warm air from coming out down by your legs. I heard about this here on the forum and use it all the time when it is warm outside and I have the top down...works great, try it.
This allows me to avoid the A/C much longer than without it.

Your car only makes as much horsepower as you ask for with your right foot. Until your right foot is in the carpet, the A/C is not limiting performance. And when your reach the carpet, the A/C turns off (the compressor clutch is disabled when the throttle position is 100%).
When we bought our 07 Z the dealer told me to leave the a/c on all the time. The new type compressors don't use as much power as the old ones.
We have done this with that car and our new 13 GS, leaving the a/c on automatic, and have never had a problem. Car is always comfortable in winter or summer..

I do that exact same thing in all my cars. If only wish I could get my wife not to play with it!

(The picture is not my car)
Ron Fellows requires that you run with the A/C on. Unless you are running to set a record measured in milliseconds your 400 hp engine will do just fine. One caveat: There are some long uphill pulls in the desert southwest if you travel there from Texas, that demand that the A/C be off so as not to overheat the engine.

Oh, do I agree with this!
My wife can not, does not, and will not seek to understand how "auto" works. I have explained and explained. ... Rather than wait a few minutes for "auto" to do the job ... - (you can probably imagine the rest); .... she punches every button, turns every **** opens or closes vents etc. in rapid succession ... thinking she is going to get to 76 quicker .. Does the same to her ODY too. Any suggestions?

Interesting! Did not know (one of many).
For several reasons at Spring Mountain they insist upon windows up and A/C at 65. Makes it nice. Instructions come over the radio via the aux input. Only briefly do you go pedal to the metal so A/C stays on most of the time.
