Default Headers and ground clearance.

I am looking into installing headers on my lowered 2013 GS coupe. I believe long tube headers will hang too low and be a problem I don't care to deal with. If I am wrong, please jump in and correct me. If I am correct, then I guess shorty headers may be my only route. I'm running a blown LS3 that made 526 HP on its last time on a Mustang dyno. I don't track the car often, but enjoy modifying the beastie.

Any recommendations on which vendor' headers you recommend would also be appreciated. Looking for stainless steel for long term survival.

Cheers - Major Boyd

I do not think you will have any clearance issues. I did not with the AR 1 3/4in setup.

My 1 7/8" LG Super Pro long tubes with 3" high flow cats seem to sit up higher and tighter than the factory exhaust.

Mine connect into the stock 2 1/2" NPP muffler pipes.

As far as brand recommendations, most out here seem to go with either LG, ARH, or Kooks. All make good quality stainless header systems.

With your blower setup, I would go 1 7/8" in size though.

The LG has slip fittings up front though. I wonder if a ball-and-socket connection like Kooks uses would hang down lower.

Default Haven't had a problem.......

I'm running American Racing Long tubes into an X pipes and Corsa Sports. I have very seldom had any problem with clearance even going over speed bumps.......just my two cents

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm about to pull the trigger at JDP Motorsports for Kooks 1 3/4" dia. long tube headers and the 3" off road X pipe that terminates in 2 1/2" dia. to interface with my NPP dual mode mufflers. After I get these bolted in it's off to my tuner to do a pull or two on his Mustang chassis dyno.
